I did it!!!

Ok I’m almost a week late on this blog post, be gentle! Lol but drum roll please..

I RAN MY FIRST 5K OBSTACLE COURSE MUD RUN!!!!

I am so excited to say I did it! I finished in about 40 minutes (it wasn’t timed but Anthony helped kinda keep track) but I was in the competitive wave(only one there is out of like 20 waves?) There was about 17(I think) of us in my wave ranging in ALL ages and I finished 14th(I think). I am proud of myself. I did NOT finish last, I NEVER walked and I did ALL the obstacles. There were 11 obstacles in the 3.1 miles, including a 6ft wall, water pit and cargo net(maybe 10ft tall). It was fun and I got dirty! I will be doing it again next year and maybe this time I won’t compete…unlikely! Lol

I want to thank Anthony and Corina for getting up at 4am to drive there and watch me compete! It meant a lot to have you at the finish line with me and I am so grateful! Love you both.

Now I shall work towards another goal. 10k?? Well my slow ass needs to get a little faster thats for sure 🙂

And congrats to the 14 year old girl who got 1st place. She kicked butt! She was ripped and ready to go! And she told us she got 2nd in the Warrior Dash for her age. Well rock on runner chick 🙂

Going, Going…

I race tomorrow.

Holy crap. I run my first 5k obstacle course mud run and I run at 8am. Holy early! Early only because its an hour and half drive away and recommend to be there 90 minutes ahead of time.

I’m nervous. I’m excited. I am going to vomit. Ok, maybe no vomit but I’m sacred.

Wish me luck?

Tattoo!

Standard

So if you know me well enough, you know I have 9 tattoos. I have some you can never see unless I show you and others are obvious. Well now its time to get a tattoo for Kennedy and I am torn on what to get! It is funny because as I was writing this post, I see many people on my timeline talking about getting tattoos….it must be tattoo season haha

I don’t want to get her foot print or hand print, everybody gets those. I want something that is special for Kennedy. Corina, her godmother, suggested her birth month flower. It’s a Jonquil. It’s a nice flower, its simple and pretty. Although I find Kennedy to be the most beautiful thing on this earth, I hardly find her simple.

Let me tell you a little about her personality, yes at 6 months I wonder what 2 will bring haha. She is VERY curious. I am not just talking letting her explore because she’s a baby, she is straight up nosey. She MUST be involved in everything, if she is not, she will get mad and you will know it. She is funny. She loves when you sing to her. I sing “you are my sunshine” to her all the time. So I’m torn on what to get!

So any suggestions?!?!

Ten Years Ago…

Standard

9/11 is our generations “Kennedy assassination” but we all remember where we were and what was going on.

I was in school and remember going into Social Studies class…Mr.Wilson to be exact. Hornell High School in Hornell, NY..my hometown. I remember hearing chatter but the rumors were so unbelievable that I thought people were crazy. But we ended up watching it in social studies class on tv. We saw the second plane hit. This is happening six hours away from us and the plane in PA was rather close to home as well.

I remember the chatter all day at school and when I got home, we watched it more. My mom’s cousin died in one of the towers because he was handicapped and couldn’t make it down the stairs. I remember his picture and immediate family talking to the local news. Local police officers went down to NYC to help and people were in shock.

Thank you for everyone who sacrificed their lives and thoughts are with every family who lost someone. We will never forget. 9/11

Where were you? What’s you story?
